Contempt
      08/03/04 03:32 PM

My fiance has been divorced for over one year. Last week he had a court appearance w/his ex and as a result was placed in a work-release program, charged with contempt for not paying credit card debts that were included in his original divorce decree. He says that these are not marital debts and he took HIS credit report to court with him to show that none of these cards show up on his credit report. Nevertheless, he's in work release now until he pays the hefty debt. He is trying to figure out his best strategy... How to go about proving that she is lying about the debt or getting a loan, paying off the debt, getting out and trying to recoup in court at a later date. He has no account #s, just credit card names and amounts. He has been told that he has to get his original decree reversed/changed. HELP????
