duration of support for 18-year marriage

I'm almost at the conclusion of a collaborative divorce. Still fighting over the house and duration of alimony. What would be a fair length of time for alimony/child support? Husband makes lots of money--$500-$600/year--and we have big house payments (7500 mortgage, $17000 taxes, big utilities). I haven't worked during the marriage because my husband is never home and I have two children, one of whom had some minor special needs but have focused on him nonetheless.

What would you guys figure would be support duration? Do you think I should sell my big house? Husband would have to give me about $17000/month in order for me to stay. Obviously, he doesn't want to but he also doesn't want me to opt out of the collaborative process and get a litigator.

HELP!
