Alimony after 16 year marriage

Let me start by giving you the story: I am 37 year old male, wife is 44. She was previously married and has 3 children from her previous marriage...we have none of our own. We got married when I was 21 and she was 28 just before I left for Desert Storm. For the majority of our marriage she did receive child support and worked part time jobs while I worked full time and went to school full time. For the past 8 years our salaries have moved apart dramatically but she has a good job and there are no kids at home now. We sold our house in July of 2006 so basically the only assets we have left is furniture, cars and a small amount in savings. My question is after 16 years of marriage if I divorce her and she is healthy and has a good job and no kids involved will I have to pay her alimony?
