Sick and tired of waiting....

I filed for divorce 2 weeks ago and my lawyer and I filed a number of motions. We have not heard anything from my wife or her lawyer yet. My question is can we still try and settle before they submit some kind of response to the court? I am worried that my wife will want to argue the motions and make this process even longer. Any advice?
