Help. Basic Mortgage question, possible divorce.

Whew.. I get depressed even posting this question.. but my family has made me realize this is likely to end in divorce anyways.. Here goes.

My wife and I just bought a house, relationship is almost unbearable. If we get divorced.. could I be forced to continue making mortgage payments?

She paid 50% of the downpayment
She also works (currently unemployed/fired)
She has savings in the bank.. from which she draws from to make her portion of the house payments, 50% of all bills.

I do make alot more than her.. even when shes employed.

Any clarification anyone can add here would be greatly appreciated.
