Things are coming to light

Remember my post about ex not calling our daughter or answering my questions (messages)about household things? FINALLY, it came out that he's been carrying on an affair for well over a year - which means before he moved out. His work took him to South America (Chile) quite often and I totally encouraged him to go and enjoy himself. I'M SO STUPID!!! How could I have not known! He used his vacation time and probably our joint money to go down there and spend time with her.

Now, this woman is visiting him in CA and this is why he hasn't been in communication with us....because he's busy entertaining her. I'm so heartbroken and devistated! It's not like I didn't have my hunches...but when the reality of it hits, I feel so beaten down and small. I've been crying for the last 24 hours. He says he loves her and wants to marry her. Our divorce isn't even signed by the judge yet, so it's not even final. And what if he marry's her and moves to South America?

Why would he trade life with his daughter for another woman? I'm so baffled - even though I realize that people do it all the time - but I just cannot comprehend. I'm not a bad person, yet, somehow I feel like I must deserve this?

It is written into our parenting that he or I cannot introduce our daughter to any significant other for at least a year. We both agreed that it would be wise for our daughter to have at least this much time to adjust to divorce and go through her grieving proces.

Why do I feel so stupid? Why am I making this about me, rather than about him being a liar and a scum-bag father who really doesn't prioritize his child?
