Making plans

Do any of you have the problem of your X making plans for the kids on your day with them? For instance, my weekend with the kids, X planned for son to be at a basketball camp all day on Sat. and then was not available to help when there was a schedule conflict. He never discussed or planned with me nor got my consent to sign up for the camp.
Also, I just got an email from him dictating what HE will do with one of the kids on MY weekend. He did not ask. He simply told me what (he thinks) he's going to do.
In this email, he also "told" me to take our D on a day that is HIS day. Of course I'll do it, but he did not ask. He demanded. Again, he's telling me what I will do.
How do I effectively prevent this in the future? I already responded to him that I control my days, not he, and that any email filled with such demands in the future will simply be ignored.
Any other suggestions?
