Totally dependent

Married for 9 years, have joint property net @ 800k. I have worked for my husband (attorney) who pays me $2,000 / month. He pays all notes. I have recently discovered some really nasty stuff, he is very controlling and I don't want this to be known bc he is well known in the community but I'm living in hell crying everyday. If I file for divorce, can he trow me out of HIS house? fire me? can he ask me for half of the money to pay the banks, knowning that i would have no income? Can I force him to have a quick divorce? I'm afraid if I see an attorney his "dirty laundry' would be known and ruin his career. I don't want anything bad for him but I want out of this marriage ASAP.
