Judges or JHO dont have to make their decisions on case law nor do they have to attach any case law to back up any decisions that they make. They have the power to do whatever they like.

I knew My Lawyer was right all the time...stbx got royally screwed by her lawyer who told her she'll get everything, too bad I didnt sue for sole custody of my sons...I would of gotten that too! Case law or not!
