Support money not enough, can I get more?

I was married for 20 years and have three minor children. I am a stay at home mom. My husband and I lived in the same house in different rooms for four years. I asked him to move out and he refused. So, the children and I moved out.
We had our temporary hearing for alimony and child support. I have full custody of the children. The judge gave $400 a month alimony and $1000 a month child support. So, I get $1400 a month?!?! The house that I rent is $1500 a month. We had to fill out our financial statements and I showed my electrical, cable and phone charges. How can a judge come to $1400 a month for 4 people?
I told my attorney that this was not acceptable, but she said the judge's decision is final. Is this true or should I find another attorney? Can't I go back and ask for more support, they sure do it on TV shows! A friend of mine had one child and she got more support than this. I was told there is a magical chart and you enter in years married + number of children + annual income = support. If it shows $1400 for my situation, someone needs to adjust the chart! And yes, my husband is quite capable of paying more support with no problem.
