I know I am doing the right thing but I am scared

hello,

I have been married 17 years. My husband was never perfect. He would go through periods of emotional and verbal abuse. Ever since he had open heart surgery 3 years ago he is worse. Three days ago he punched my 12 year old son and dragged him out of the house by the hair. All day today he screamed,threatened and harassed all three of us while my oldest son had a guest here. I have decided to divorce him. I have no income and have no idea what will become of us. Any advice? Thanks!
