Help on spousal support question, State of CA

Hi. Married 21 yrs, kids both over 18. Husband moved out a year, found out about 7 yr affair years ago,moved back in Oct 09, out Feb 10. Found someone else....

I have been mostly SAHM, a semester of college but went to work to put him through college, later masters degree.

My question is, how is his income calculated, past 12 months or i have heard aveage of past 3 years? He has board of directors job $90k yr but quit big money job in Jan 08 because he didnt want to work anymore. This job only requires a week travel 4 x yr and a few emails from home. His other income in '09 was from stock options (is that considered income?), and he paid himself through a business he has that was set up to write off money he got from 2 yr non compete clause that just ended in December. Will this income be figured?

Also, an occupational eval has been suggested by atty i am consulting with. Is this beneficial?
