Spousal Support and Vocational Assessment (CA)

Hello. Here's my situation...
I was forcibly retired over 10 years ago from Public Safety (CA) due to severe PTSD, Industrial Disability. I just passed official retirement age for Public Safety, 50 years, and my spouse (24 year marriage, 12 years separated) wants a divorce.
I make $36,000 year in disability from State of California and my soon-to-be ex makes $80,000. Since by law some of my disability can be taken in California (and since my spouse carried me on insurance and I will lose it all), I want to ask for Spousal Support... but my ex says that they're going to send me to a Vocational Assessment! Having worked in Public Safety and risked my life for years and years... being on a fixed income... and suffering from severe PTSD... this is a nightmare. I feel like I'm dying.
Is there anything that I can do?
Even if I could work -- which I can't -- I am over 50, unemployed for over 10 years, cannot go back into my field, and had to sue my employer for what Disability I got.
