What steps are needed???

My wife is overseas in Korea, we have agreed that divorce is best...I have our 2 year old son at this time. I was told we can't file for divorce while she gets back because we have to do parenting classes. If I want to move to move cities within the same state is there anything I need to do? I don't want my life to be on hold until she can come back and do the classes...
