Trying to apply for Child Support

Background:
I like in Kentucky. Almost a month ago, I found out my husband was cheating on me with women he was meeting online. We are separated living two hours away from one another. We have a seven month old daughter and I am the CP. I am trying to apply for child support but I was not having luck in the county I live in so I am applying in the county he lives in(where we were married and where our daughter was born)and I have been sent a application. He has a son from a previous marriage and he is a few months behind in child support. He is currently on probation for a theft charge. He has a court date for January 18th, I am assuming for the support he owes.
My question:
After I am granted support,If my soon to be ex husband goes to jail, will I receive support from the State?
