Taxes FUN!!! Am I going to get jipped?

Alright so ex and I got final decree of dissolution September of 2010. In our decree we elected that we would alternate claiming taxes each year - however, we didn't take into consideration that we were both individually claiming our child (and I had been claiming my ex) on our documents all year. Now my ex wants to claim taxes this year because she says "I've been claiming 3 all year and if I don't get to claim the exemption for our child, I'll get screwed and have to pay thousands of dollars". But then I think to myself, I've been claiming probably 3 or more as well since she and our child were dependants.
What do we do?
Who should get to claim?
Can we file together even though we were divorced for 3 months out of the year?
If I let her claim the exemption, will I end up having to pay a ton of money?
Any input is greatly appreciated!
