California guidelines, SS half term of marriage

If the guidelines of spousal support for 1/2 the length of the marriage (if less than 10 years) is followed, does this time start the SS when the divorce is finalized, or does temporary support count towards the time.
For instance, if I was married for 6 years till separation date, and I have been paying temporary support for 1 year until the final court ordered support and divorce is finalized, do I now have 3 more years of ss, or 2 more since I have payed a year already?
