Son wants to live w/stepfather

I am in the process of divorcing my husband. I have moved out of the house with my 2 children ages 15 & 10. After being in our new home for almost 6 months, my 15 year old decides he is not happy and wants to go back to "his home" (my ex's house). Although, I have given the idea a little thought, obviously I do not want him to go, but I do not want him to be unhappy or stressed, which he obviously is. I have sole custody of both children and was wondering if this is a decision I could make on my own without their father's consent or the courts consent? It is very difficult for me to even think about this, but as I said, I just want him to be happy.
