Aren't separation agreements generally fair?

I am going through divorce mediation. My soon-to-be-ex is unhappy with the amount of child support and alimony in the separation agreement that her attorney and my attorney both worked on, and agreed was fair. How can it not be fair if both attorneys worked together on it, and is an agreement they believe the court will approve?
When I talk to my attorney, my friends, even some in situations similar to my soon-to-be-ex, they all agree that the amount she will be getting seems fair. But she claims they are all wrong and she will be living in poverty. Who am I supposed to believe? The one person who says "I can't survive unless you give me more money" or all the other people who say she's being unreasonable?
