FASFA Frustration

My DD will be starting college next year and I am in the process of filling out the FASFA. We have three more (stepdaughters) that will be starting college every year after. Because I am remarried, it is asking for my income and my DH income, but not her bio fathers. My husband and I both work, run a business, and make comfortable living, and I doubt we will get any aid for DD. Why doesn’t the FASFA ask for the other Bio-parents income instead of the step-parent? Why would they assume that because DD lives in my household full time that my DH is willing to pay for her college? Looks like it will be student loans for her.
On the other hand, BM has not worked for years, receives child support and state assistance. So, I assume that when she fills out the FASFA for the other girls, that my DH’s income would not be included? If that is the case, then they should be getting a lot of aid. Has anyone else here been down this road with the FASFA?
