OT- question

G's boyfriend is finishing basic for army. He was suppose to go to Bliss, but changed his orders for Drum. He's going into 10th Mtn. For those of you who know military, is this a good sign? Only 5 are going out of 220. He is in the BTC Unit. Also, what is a good graduation gift to get him???
