WWYD? SS Fight

SS came home right about curfew, blared the horn, scared me and DH. DH hears some yelling, says something is wrong, goes outside. I wait a few seconds, then get up, get dressed and go outside. I get out there and there is SS and another kid, the kid's truck is parked behind SS, still running and the boys are circling in the street with hubby just standing there....just standing there.

So I'm like WTH is going on here...DH says, this is <kid's name> who's been harassing SS in high school since freshman year. SS always walks away and deals with the taunting because we've threatened to take his truck if he gets suspended. So DH let them duke it out....in the street....in front of my house. I watched in complete horror as this fight went on not knowing what to do, how to separate them. The fight ended when they ended up across the street in a neighbors yard. The other kid got in his truck, called my SS some names, my hubby some names, called us ugly and drove away. **He called me ugly! Listen bucko, it's midnight and I'm in sleep clothes and my hair is a mess. I am not ugly you little turd.**

Would you have separated them? Would you have let them fight? Would you involved authorities or would you let it go?

What hubby did: let them fight, didn't call authorities.
