Child Support and Joint 50-50 custody

My wife and I may be splitting up and would like a mutual clean break. We want joint 50-50 equal custody over the kids. We want to still be parents together. Now I make more than her, which is probably 85% to 15%. (Trust me I don't make a lot.)
Now I know one has to be listed as the primary custodial. However, if it is split and she is custodial but we still split time equally; do I lower the child support based on the fact that I too will need to pay for the standards for raising a child.
For example, to make this even, the recommended cost for 2 children is $1000 a month. Is it possible to give her a smaller percentage of that rather than the $850 that would be dictated by income percentage.
