I was divorced in Alaska 23 years ago. As with all divorces, it was highly emotional and I wanted it over. I left with basically nothing, although we had purchased two houses and other things during the marriage. The divorce decree states that after one of the properties sold, we would split the proceeds in 1/2, less the initial investment he paid to buy the property. He told me that he would not sell the property for less than a certain amount due to falling property prices at the time. After that he dropped all contact and unlisted his phone number. I recently went through some old paperwork and found the settlement. I realized that he walked away with everything and I was left with nothing. I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a statute of limitations on the property settlement from a divorce?
