I am the father and primary residential parent in a joint custody agreement. I have majority of time with the children. My ex is trying to buy a house and the lender wants a statement signed saying we have 50/50 custody. I'm hesitant to sign as I don't trust that she wouldn't use this to try to get primary custody down the road. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't do it. Lying always comes back to bite later.

Thanks for the reassurance. That's kind of what I was thinking.

If you have a court order that states anything other than 50/50 you'd be crazy to attest to anything other than what the court order says. Custody down the road issue aside it would be very simple to prove a fraud charge against you and your ex.
