My spouse is in the military, stationed in Illinois, and I reside in Washington. We are doing our best to do this amicably - we have no children, no shared accounts of any kind, etc. However, he recently bought property (his money, his property, but I had to sign off on the loan). I am completing online papers currently and want to know if I'm required to list this property - we both want a simple divorce; I want nothing of his, and he wants nothing of mine. We wouldn't be hiding an asset to keep the other person in the dark, but instead to just keep what we've decided is ours and hopefully make the process less complicated. Would there be a penalty for doing so? I would really like to avoid mentioning it but don't want to create bigger issues in doing so. Thank you!

No penalty, not problem.
