My ex husband was supposed to take care of our divorce and he told me that the divorce has been finalized. I have not received any divorce papers and supposed to be getting a check as well. I'm out of a job and cannot afford to get a lawyer of my own. I also moved out of our house about 3 months ago when he told me he would file the divorce. I practically left with nothing. I get no help from him or spousal support. Anyone know what I can do? I'm in desperate need of answers.

It sounds like you desperately need to talk to a lawyer. First consult is usually free, and if your ex has income and you don't the lawyer may be able to either get you enough marital property and/or spousal support to pay the bill or get your ex ordered to pay your legal fees.

Some people, especially if both sides are cooperative, can navigate this process by themselves without a lawyer. No offense, but that doesn't sound like your situation.

Getting a job so you can mostly or entirely support yourself - you're a lot better off in the long run not having to depend on your ex.
