My wife and I are considering marriage counseling and neither of us have any skeletons in the closet. (at least that I know of)
But it seems to me that in order for counseling to succeed that we need to be honest, transparent and open during the counseling. However, it the counseling doesn't work out and we head towards divorce it appears that either side can request the counseling notes and/or require the counselor to testify.
As a result of that possible risk, it seems to be guarded is the best approach or to not even have counseling at all. Unless someone knows of an agreement or set of terms that can ensure the records are destroyed when the counseling is done and/or at the request of either party at any time.
What's possible ? Thanks for any advice.
