how long?

attorney has had over a year to file paperwork for equitable distribution. she has had all the required paperwork and still no filing. does anyone know how long it should take, she just gives me a run around when i ask.

Not that long, and if it's your attorney you should definitely be getting answers to your queries. I'd start interviewing other attorneys and get ready to fire this one.

Are you asking for more than 1/2 the assets? If contested, it could cost a small fortune in attorney fees to pursue. Do you have the ability to pay? Is this a possible reason why they are dragging their feet?
