Closing Argument
- see Summation.
Application in Divorce
The closing argument in a divorce case is delivered by both sides as a finishing presentation to the judge to help persuade him or her to rule in their favor. It is a summary of claims,
evidence
and facts that are carefully acknowledged in a fairly short closing statement. A good closing can help win a case, just as a poor closing can lose a case.
