Term Definition Nesting - a temporary custody arrangement whereby the child remains in the marital home and the parents, each in turn and on a weekly or monthly schedule, make the house his or her residence.
Application in Divorce Nesting requires a very high level of cooperation among everyone involved.

Normally, a divorce means that a husband and wife who lived in one house now have two residences. Nesting means they have three -- one for the mother when she is not in the nest, one for the father when he is not in the nest, and the nest for the children all of the time. For this reason alone, nesting is reserved for the wealthy.
