Mediation is a way for you and your spouse to work through the intricacies of separating and divorce without hiring attorneys. If you choose this route, you may have a less expensive divorce and a better co-parenting relationship.
In Palm Beach County, your divorce case (really, any civil case) isn’t going to trial unless the parties...and their lawyers if they’ve got them....go to mediation with a neutral third party specially trained to try to get the parties to reach agreement on all of the issues (the mediator).

how it works or how the process will benefit a family, business or organization.

If the divorcing spouses cannot reach a resolution of their differences through talking with each other or negotiations through their lawyers, the judge will require them to go to mediation before going to trial.
All Florida divorcing spouses who have children must complete a Parent Education and Family Stabilization class before a divorce will be granted by the court. This parenting class is mandatory because it helps to minimize the emotional trauma of the divorce on the children. Each parent must independently complete the course before the divorce enters the court. They must provide the court with a certificate of completion to prove the obligation has been met.
