Children are inpirational - 12/31/17 11:38 PM

My wife and I just sat down with the kids to tell them that we’re officially getting divorce earlier this month (awful timing given the holidays). We were all together on christmas because we thought it might make things easier but I’m not sure if that was the right decision.

A few days ago, my son (the older sibling) sent me and email and attached was a song he made for me. He wrote it from the perspective of a father losing custody and while it’s not perfectly autobiographical it really hit home. It made me cry right away. He put it up on youtube because I told that other folks going through what we’ve been going through need to hear this. I’m posting this here so that you all might take a listen. It really touched me and I hope that it will do the same for you.

Soppy songs on YouTube should be the least of your worries.

Yes, emma is absolutely right that your decisions will make bad impact on you and your children as well. Divorce is the most difficult phase of a couple’s life though. But, you should think about the future of your children.

[According to the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, many children falsely consider themselves the reason behind their parents’ divorce and assume the responsibility to mend the relationship This can lead to immense stress and pressure on the young mind, which can have several repercussions like negative thoughts and nightmares.]
