Splitting "Sweat" Equity - 03/16/15 09:15 PM

Hi, thanks for reading. We bought a house for $200k, and it's paid down to $190k. I build a very large addition that nearly doubled the square footage, and I did the work 100% myself. The house now appraised at $260k just a couple years later, so there is $70k equity in the home.

Because $60k of that equity came from my labor, I assume the court won't split it 50/50 right?

The entire equity is up for equal distribution unless you can get your stbx to agree otherwise.
