I have a situation here. My aunt is 67 and separated (agreement). She has SSI (mental disability) and live independently with minor help from kids. Separated husband applied for Social Security and now she is asked to come to SSA to get her divorced spouse benefits. He worked only for about 8-9 years in USA and his benefits prob around 600-700$/mo but he still is working. Will she still be qualified for her SSI and Medicaid? Appreciate all inputs.

Yes. If they were married for ten years or more, he can seek social security based on her earnings. It does not decrease what she will receive.

She will get either SSI or Social Security retirement benefits but she won't gt both. If he is only eligible for $600-$700 in SS beneifts her benefit as his spouse would be half of what he gets. She would of course still be able to get medicaid and help paying for her meds since she has such a low income. Medicaid would also pay her medicare payment.
