Yeah..that was a copy/paste...he is an idiot...a redneck hillbilly with issues. lots of them.

I can just see him taking me to court...when most of the court appearances we've had the past 6 years he has "call in sick" to.

I'm gonna email him back...no way would we be able to fund even HALF the money for an adoption within 60 days lol. And HE is the one that all of a sudden..after a few months of visits..stopped seeing our son. Never ONCE called him, or anything. He has some pretty hefty medical bills to pay too..reimburse ME for. Basically I will tell him to BRING IT.

I read that, and now I keep picturing him as Jethro, on the Beverly Hillbillies?

Sometimes I can't figure out how ANY of these guys can afford a dime in CS. Because with writing like that, I can't even see how they could hold a job at McDs. I mean, they have to know how to spell Big Mac in order to hit the right key to ring it up. Duh.

LOL! He graduated HS..but he was in the resource classes. As far as I know..what he is doing right now doesn't really require writing skills lol. He claims to be a floor covering contractor...owns his own business with his brother (nothing can be found on it though..so it's all under the table).

He told me a while back that he would have to pay 4K in order to get his liscense reinstated..and possibly to keep him out of jail.

A flooring contractor needs to be able to do math. They have to measure and figure up square feet and how to make the most of the leftover remnants from the roll. Someone who spells like that couldn't add 2 and 2!

Another thing that he is not thinking about if he takes me to court...his CS will be raised. I just used the CS calculater and if what he says is true and he is making at least 45K per year...and me set at $7.00 per hour (which is actually more than what I'm making now) his CS will go up to $785 per month. Right now he is supposed to be paying $300 per month..and it's based on the old guidelines. The $785 is also with me having son 365 days of the year.

So..not ONLY would his CS go up, but he would probably also have to pay a Parenting Place (as he and my son do not know each other...no relationship what so ever), an atty, etc. Think I should point this out to him?

Maybe he leaves the math part to his brother...I think he is a little bit smarter than my ex is...though that's not saying much.

Now how the hell do you figure a picture of a Big Mac vs. a picture of a double cheeseburger on those little buttons????

It's no joke. I worked at Burger CHEF...remember those?...when I was 16. They hired this new girl, also 16. She was confused and having some trouble with the register one day and came over and whispered to me. She couldn't READ! She was in high school, 10th or 11th?...and she could NOT read. She needed me to show her which button to push. Eventually, she would memorize them, but still. HOW can you be in high school and illiterate?!?????

M5, if I were you, I would let him pay for the adoption and let him take it off his CS. Why would you want him in your son's life if he is not interested....end it as soon as possible.

If this was my child's dad....I would be glad to be rid of him....at any financial cost. You aren't going to miss the money...he wasn't paying it anyway.

I say let him off the hook and be thankful that he is willing to sign over his parental rights. 8k is not worth it.

I'm so not letting him off the hook for arrears. I will, at the most, credit him for half of the adoption costs (my half), but no more than that. That's what i told him via email and he said "that makes sense". I highly doubt he will attempt to pay on the arrears after the adoption is finalized...so they will continue to accrue interest I believe...and maybe one day I'll be able to collect on it.

I forgave all arrears and paid the adoption. My D needed the stress of that man gone. The sooner the better. At 6 she was suffering from an anxiety disorder and depression. That was the best money I ever spent!

my son doesn't have to deal with him...and he is willing to pay for all the adoption and have half of it be credited to his arrears. He knows he will still be responsible for the arrears. He is just desperate to get the current CS stopped, get his liscense back and avoid jail. He has never had...never will have interest in our son.
