DOCUMENT everything... things that are said by the kids, the way they act.... conversations you have had with X, the way kids behave at your house, etc. Yes, the more you talk to the GAL and take the initiative to call them and let them know that you want to do everything you can to cooperate with them, the better it is going to be for you. You need to take the initiative and call the GAL and ask if there is any further information they need or anything you should be doing? I'm just speaking from observing the situation when my DH had a GAL involved with their court case many years ago. His XW is the NCP and she refused to cooperate with the GAL, refused to set up appointments, call back, or arrange times to meet. That is one of the many reasons she ended up going from joint legal to my DH now having FULL LEGAL. GAL can have a lot of influence on the courts and the more cooperative and willing to work with them, the better your report is likely to be.
