How rare is alimony in Ga? I'm going through a divorce with no children and my wife has been gone nearly 3 years and works. My lawyer says a judge is going to be interested in an equitable split of assets, not alimony, and not to worry.

I would listen to your attorney. Alimony is different in every state, courtroom and jurisdiction, and your attorney is the best indicator what the prevailing attitude is in your area.

Well now my attorney has fallen ill and the entire thing is on hold. Do I find another? I have a bit invested already. I'm confident in his abilities but he won't be available for a couple months.
