My boyfriend is getting a divorce.
It is supposedly an uncontested divorce.
The petition from his ex states that she have custody child support maintenance lawyer fees paid. He said don't worry it's a generic petition and that once it gets in front of the judge they will enter their agreed order. I tried to tell him that I didn't think it was a good idea but he doesn't want to hear anything I'm saying.
He's trusting her to do the right thing. But I still think it's bad for him.
What do you think?

1. You probably ought to mostly stay out of his divorce, unless asked. You can provide moral support but it's not your business.

2. It would probably be a good idea for him to consult with a lawyer, even if he chooses to be self-represented. Especially if his soon-to-be-ex is working with a lawyer.

As TJMH stated, he needs an attorney. A judge could very well go with her idea of custody, support, maintenance, lawyer fees, ect, just as the petition says.
